Cloud based analytics for small business’s

Many businesses are moving to the cloud for storage of for sales data, marketing data, even financial and HR data. Cloud BI solutions capable of connecting to multiple data sources are valuable for any role to deliver and share business insights used by both large-scale multinationals and for small businesses.

So, what is cloud-based analytics?

Cloud analytics in cloud computing offer many of the same features as traditional data analytics. Rather than hosting everything on-premises, cloud analytics provides the components needed to build, deploy, scale, and manage data analytics in the cloud on a third-party infrastructure.  In cloud analytics systems, all generated data is collected and securely stored in the cloud, where it can be accessed from any internet-connected device. The cloud analytics system can then clean, organize, process, and analyse the data using proprietary algorithms. These insights are presented to the user through different data visualizations and other intuitive formats.

So how can cloud-based analytics help small business, well there are several benefits in implementing this type of technology.

1.        Scalability: with using this technology, it allows  business to scale up during periods of high demand, and scale down during periods of downturn, without the need of purchasing any extra hardware.

2.       Cost efficiency: Similarly, to point 1, using cloud-based technologies requires not extra hardware to be bought and can avail of the services on a subscription type basis.

3.        Data consolidation: Having a number of data sources makes it near impossible to make real time decisions within an organisation, having just one location for this data allows easy access for all stakeholders, regardless of their physical location. By having all the data in source, it allows for real time, more informed decision making.
